Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush + Naked Palette

On Friday, I decided to treat myself to some new goodies. I haven't bought any makeup in months so I thought, I deserve it... right?

I was in need of a new blush, ok so maybe need isn't the right word. I wanted a new blush. After going back and forth between getting a Nars blush (I have been wanting Nars blush in Orgasm for the longest time!) and getting a Tarte blush. I went with Tarte. Before I buy something I always do alittle research. Bad habit, but worth it! So after many swatches and many YouTube videos I decided on Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in the color: Dollface which is a beautiful light pink.

It is a long-wearing, solar-baked blush that lasts up to 12 hours. After hearing that I was like, ok let's try it! I have very oily skin so anything that claims to last that long even on oily skin. I'm all for it! It also claims to work with dry and combination skin types.

This is what the description says about it:

Infused with natural clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun, this nutrient-rich blush benefits all skin types for a fade-free flawless finish for an amazing 12 hours. Inspired by Tarte's best-selling shades of cheek stains and lip tints, the colors range from soft to vivid to suit a wide variety of skintones. For oily skin types, Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place. Those with dry skin will benefit from the clay's nourishing and hydrating properties, which naturally restore skin's moisture. Combination skin types can rely on its ability to zero in on skin concerns and deliver benefits to restore complexion harmony. The result? Blush that wears better, longer, and truer!

This blush features the following Skinvigorating™ ingredients:

- Vitamins A and E, two natural preservatives that act as anti-inflammatory emollients and protect against free radical damage
- Vitamin C, an antioxidant that fights free radical damage and prevents oxidative stress and premature signs of aging, while brightening the skin
- Amazonian clay, a nutrient-rich, multitasking, skin-balancing clay that reduces dryness and flakiness, improves skin clarity, elasticity, firmness, and texture while removing oil from the skin's surface for smooth application and wear.

Swatches done in natural light. The swatch on my arm is 2 swipes. It is easy to work with because you can build it up. If you are fair I think this would look great! Also, if you are looking for a matte blush this is perfect!

Price: $25 for 0.2 oz - You can find these blushes at Ulta (where I picked mine up from), Sephora, and Tarte's website.

Now on to something I have been wanting for a long time!...

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Ever since I first seen this I knew I had to have it! When I went to go pick it up everyone was out! After a few more months went by I checked all the places again to see if they had it in stock again... nope. Then finally everyone stocked up on them, but after seeing that they got rid of the double ended eyeliner and replaced it with a shadow brush, I was furious and decided to skip it. Another few months went by and I talked myself into going ahead and getting one (the eyeshadows were so pretty I couldn't resist! Haha!) and of course, everyone was out again! Another few months and finally, I seen everyone had them in stock so I ran to get me one!

Look how beautiful this palette is! I am in love ♥!

Have any of you tried the Tarte Amazonian blushes? If so what do you think about them?

Alicia

  1. Welcome back hon! I think the Naked Palette is nice but was a litle disappointed with the selection in matte colors. I'm going through a matte phase...

I have never tried the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes. I've seen it around but figured it was a trendy product, but after reading reviews and seeing your swatches I want to try it.

  2. Thanks love! :) I wish I could go through a matte phase. I'm always drawn into shimmer (unless it's big chunky shimmer glitter).

  3. Love both of these products! Good choices. I normally do the same as you and research my makeup on blogs and youtube before I make any purchases. It's too expensive not to!

I use the naked palette at least three times a week and just picked up a trial size of dollface a couple of weeks ago. I really like the blush. Too bad it doesn't come in more than a handful of colors.

  4. I also wish the blushes came in more colors! Especially for me because of how pale I can get in the winter.
